FAQS

When should I schedule my maternity session?

Every woman and pregnancy is different, but I recommend being photographed at the end of your 2nd trimester or beginning of your third, approximately 28-36 weeks. At this point you will most likely look pregnant with a full belly and feel your best.

When do newborn sessions take place?

For the best results, we will want to take newborn photos within the first 10 days of your baby's birth. This is when your child will be their absolute smallest and they are more likely to sleep during the session. Past this point they are typically more alert and fussy, which creates a more challenging and less enjoyable experience for you and your baby.

Where will our newborn session take place?

Your newborn session will take place in your home. When I first arrive I usually have Dad, or another family member, show me around so that I can determine the best light in your home. From there we will work through the spaces that I choose, stopping of course for nursing and diaper changes.

What is your newborn photography styles?

I photograph little feet, baby yawns, and you holding and admiring your new baby. Depending on the light and how the session flows, I also like to capture real moments of you taking care of your baby, nursery details, and sibling interactions if they are present. All these photographs are meant to look natural and authentic. If you want posed shots of your baby nude in a basket, I'm more than happy to recommend other photographers who are masters of that style.
