This engagement session holds a very special place in my heart, as it was done for my youngest brother Tony and his fiance Allison. They flew me out to Salt Lake City for a weekend of adventure in Moab. We spent our time hiking, eating good food, and of course taking photographs to celebrate their engagement.
The first set of photos is from Arches National Park. We arrived at sunrise and drove out to the Window Arches and Double Arch. The light on the red rocks was absolutely magical and we had a wonderful time photographing before it got really busy with other tourists.
The next day we hiked out to Delicate Arch. I did a lot of hiking in my youth in the White Mountains, but it had been a while and I was pregnant. I was concerned that I wouldn’t do well, but the climb to the arch is low key and it felt good to be moving. In fact it was one of the first times during my pregnancy where I didn’t feel sick, so that was really enjoyable for me.
Later that day we captured the second set of engagement photos at Dead Horse Point State Park. The drop offs there are insane and I was definitely nervous being close to the edge. The sunset was stunning and it was so much peaceful and breezy as we took the final photos.
I’m so grateful that I had this time with Allison and Tony. I loved photographing them and exploring the state they have made their home. And I can not wait to celebrate with them later this year at their wedding. I won’t be photographing however, as they have asked me to be their officiant. I couldn’t be more honored!
Tony & Allison, I wish you lots of love and laughter as you finalize your wedding plans and embark on your marriage journey!
