Fall in Florida doesn’t always mean predictable weather. When this family’s session day arrived last year, the forecast was all over the place, with a thunderstorm headed our way. We ended up moving their session to an earlier time than originally planned, which meant juggling nap schedules and making some quick decisions, but this family was incredibly flexible and we made it work.
We spent the morning exploring Dickson Azalea Park in the heart of Orlando. With two shy children, I knew we might need to take our time, follow their lead, and make plenty of room for fun. Their parents brought such positive energy to the session, and together we were able to capture a wonderful mix of relaxed portraits, playful moments, and action shots.
I also loved the simplicity of their wardrobe. The combination of blues, browns, and ivory felt timeless and photographed beautifully against the greenery and warm tones of the park.
This was my second time photographing this family, and one of my favorite parts of being a family photographer is getting to watch families grow. It was so special to meet their baby boy and see how much their daughter had grown and embraced her new role as a big sister.
I hope I’ll have the opportunity to photograph them again in the years ahead and continue documenting all the little changes along the way.
