New Website

Last week I celebrated my birthday with the launch of my new website. To say that I was and still am excited is an understatement. This project has been in the works for a long time and I’m so very happy to share it with you now!

For my new site it was really important to me that it looked and functioned well on desktops, laptops, tablets, and phones. Since the creation of my last website, technology has changed a lot. At the time the iPhone 6 had just come out and now there are people walking around with the iPhone 11. Not me of course, I’m making my 6 last FOREVER. Anyways, my point is that with every advancement the way people view websites changes.

For this reason I chose to use a template from Flothemes. They are constantly updating and refreshing their templates so that they look good on all platforms. I also really like how you can alter the templates and make your site truly your own. If you are looking to update your website, I highly recommend them. Plus, they have some pretty awesome Black Friday deals going on right now.

Having my website perform well on all devices is crucial, but it also needs to help potential clients determine whether or not I am the right photographer for them. To help with this process, I shared more of my personality, and what type of experience I provide. There are lots of ways that I did this, but my favorite change is the addition of testimonials from past clients, like this sweet one…

And of course, having an up to date portfolio that presents your current photography style and is true to brand is also very important. I’ve grown a lot as a photographer in the past few years, so it’s really exciting to share my latest work as well as the type of images that I want to continue creating.

I also updated all my pages having to do with prices and services. I included more information on what to expect and my overall process. There are FAQs in both the wedding and portrait portions of my site. This is all geared to help potential clients make an informed decision.

In addition to helping potential clients, I also wanted to serve my current clients better. I created a client resource page with links to my client portal, online proofing site, and print shop. The client portal is where contracts are signed and invoices are paid. The online proofing site is where clients view, order, and download their images. And if someone is looking for artwork for their walls, my print shop is the place to go.

My client resources page will also be the home for all the new content I’m currently working on. For example, I’m creating a guide of where to get your photos printed. It will include information on my print products, as well as names of companies that offer different or more affordable options. I’m hoping to have that out to you all next week, so that you have time to have your photos printed in time for the holidays. There will also be guides on what to wear for different types of sessions, tips and tricks for getting your best photos, and more. Ahhh! There is so much more to share and I can’t wait to serve you all better!

Thanks so much for reading my blog!!! I would love for you to check out my site and tell me what you think! Feel free to come say hello on IG or FB, or if that’s not your style, you can email me through my contact page.

All the best,

Heidi
